When I was young I lived in Columbus, Nebraska. I used to play Ninja Turtles and guns with my friend Nick. I had this huge imagination and always made up stories and wild fantasies. But I don’t remember much of my life before my accident. When I was 14, I was in a near fatal accident that left me “paralyzed” from the waist down. After rehab and healing time and 6 months, I was up and around again. I used to play basketball a lot, but that was obviously out of the question. So for a short time of getting used to living in a new town, (York, to which we moved a year before the accident) and dealing w/out the outlet of sports, I decided to pick up playing guitar. I had recently been introduced to the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Van Halen and Kirk Hammet. It blew my mind and I told myself and my good friend Jamie Satterthwaite that I would eventually be as good as all of them. For the next year I was a guitar hermit and all I did was work at McDonald’s for two hours a day, come home and play all night long. Three years and three bands later I am with Sothya my all time dream band. With the best bass player, and best drummer and then….me, I am super confident in this band as any other. Plus these guys being my best friends and all and sharing my Christian faith with me, I am in the place I need to be.
